New Site Pending
I will be building up a site about "Where Are They Now?" focusing on the San Francisco North Bay railroads rolling stock. Buildings tend to stay local and you should go to the appropriate fan and historical society sites (soon to be listed in links section).
This is a page replacing an unfinished movie review stuff that focused on disability issues in movies. So many ideas, so little time as I'm trying to get employed or an income FIRST! Web 2.0 sites and other internet concepts are so overdone and only a few make money. Anyway.
I can't post specific information and I need to work on a full build with collaboration components so that
It'd be fun to check out Wikipedia as a hosting service for such a thing though I'm fussy about it as it's not about ONE railroad or such that Wiki's are about but a dynamic content with a changing content such as the number of railroads covered. I'll look into WikiMedia for this sometime.
So the list is going to focus on Sonoma and Marin Counties. Connecting railroads is basically Southern Pacific (aka: outside of these counties). Napa county is a bit too far East but may get included when the site goes wild! Northern counties can add a whole slew of railroads, mostly logging, that would create an exponential work load however when the site semi-automates (though I'll be forcibly stopping SPAM, porno, etc. crap) I can then add other northern railroads as the site expands. Heck! This might even go Web 2.0! (no, not people stuff but he railroads ONLY as the subject) Web 2.0 has been so done to death so it "can't" happen.
Railroads included:
NorthWestern Pacific RR (most of the time it was a subsidiary of the SP) - a
favorite of mine for modeling
North Pacific Coast RR - one of the three significant Sonoma County railroads I
"railfanned" (by historical method!)
Petaluma & Santa Rosa RR - another favorite for modeling
North Shore (not related to the East Coast railroad)
(I forgot the Donahue line name)
And other historical or small lines like Petaluma & Haystack
Not included:
Southern Pacific which owned the NWP as well as having a connection terminating in Santa Rosa back before the 1914 forming of the NWP and maintained until about 1924.
Counties:
Lake
Mendocino
Napa
Humboldt & others on the NWP which ran from Marin with the main office and
milepost 0 in San Francisco to Eureka (with a branch to Korblex near there)
What would be nice would be to include my favorite historical route tracings though there are several fan sites doing that so links may only be included. Who knows?
